Dutch model and actor, Mark Vanderloo was born in 1968 in the Netherlands. He was one of the most recognized models of the 90s and 2000s and the first male supermodel in history. He graduated in History although a casual opportunity in his homeland introduced him to the world of fashion.
With his campaign for Banana Republic in 1990, the model's career took off internationally. For two decades, Vanderloo has walked the most important catwalks in the world such as Paris, Milan or New York. He has starred in campaigns for the most prestigious brands such as Hugo Boss, Donna Karan, Armani, Valentino or Calvin Klein, among others. In 2018, he returned to the catwalks again with Dior Homme, for who he starred in the campaign that same year, proving that he is still a legend in the industry.
In his career as an actor stands out his participation in the film Celebrity by Woody Allen or the short The Tale of a Fairy directed by Karl Lagerfeld in 2011. In addition, he has participated in television series in Spain with Emilio Aragón and starred in an unforgettable and scandalous spot for Peugeot where he appeared naked, a fact that made him a sex symbol in our country. His overwhelming personality and naturalness have made him a character much loved by the Spanish press. In addition, throughout his career Vanderloo has been awarded multiple times, including the GQ, Esquire or Icon awards.
In his latest projects, he has accompanied his son Mark in his first steps in the fashion industry. Together they have starred in the campaigns of important brands such as Versace, Zara or Paul&shark.
Currently, the model resides in Amsterdam with his wife the tv host and model Robine Van der Meer and their two children.
